Jaipur, October 20. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma stated that the festival of Vijayadashami is not just an occasion to remember the slaying of Ravana, but also a festival to take a pledge to eliminate the evils and malpractices prevailing in society. He said that the life of Lord Shri Ram is an unparalleled example of public welfare, dignity, ideals, and the protection of Sanatan culture. Following his ideals and working for the welfare of every section of society is truly the path to establishing 'Ramrajya'.

The Chief Minister was addressing the Ravana Dahan Mahotsav organised on the occasion of Vijayadashami in Adarsh Nagar, Jaipur, on Tuesday. He mentioned that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, historic work is being done to preserve and promote cultural heritage alongside development. Initiatives like the Pran-Pratishtha of Shri Ram Lalla in Ayodhya, the redevelopment of Kashi Vishwanath Dham, the construction of Mahakal Lok in Ujjain, and the remembrance of the glorious heritage of Somnath have given new energy to the country's cultural consciousness. Similarly, the surgical strike, Balakot air strike, and Operation Sindoor have demonstrated India's firm commitment against terrorism. Meanwhile, decisive action against Naxalism has strengthened the environment of peace and security in the country.

Preservation of the state's cultural heritage:
He said that the state government is also continuously working towards the preservation of the state's rich cultural heritage and the development of religious places. Our cultural identity has gained new strength through efforts such as the development and reconstruction of various temples, the construction of panoramas at sites organised with saints and folk traditions, and the organisation of festivals and celebrations throughout the year in government temples.

Play an active role in destroying the Ravana of drug addiction:
Expressing concern over the trend of drug addiction among youth, the Chief Minister said that addiction is a serious challenge for the future of individuals, families, and society. To eliminate this 'Ravana' of addiction, a 100-week mega-campaign is being run under the guidance of the Prime Minister. He added that a developed and strong nation can be built only through a drug-free society. He called upon the general public and social organisations to play an active role in the campaign against drugs.

The Chief Minister paid obeisance and offered prayers at the Shri Ram Temple's Ram Darbar, wishing for the happiness, peace, and prosperity of the state. On this occasion, MP Manju Sharma, MLA Kalicharan Saraf, Mayor Sunil Kothari, former MLA Ashok Parnami, along with officials of the organising committee and a large number of citizens were present.
