Jaipur, October 16. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma interacted with Non-Resident Rajasthanis at the Rajasthan International Centre in Jaipur on Friday, applauding their monumental contributions toward the growth of the state and the nation. He urged them to sustain their momentum and become partners in creating employment, industrial development, and new opportunities for local youth by investing in their motherland. Furthermore, he announced several key initiatives regarding new chapters of the Rajasthan Foundation, the streamlining of steps for ease of doing business, and other related issues.

The CM said that Non-Resident Rajasthanis are the global brand ambassadors of the state's rich heritage. Through their hard work, skill, entrepreneurship, and spirit of social harmony, they have brought glory to the name of Rajasthan. He stated that alongside "Padharo Mhare Desh", we now need to carry forward the spirit of "Padharo Thare Desh" so that Non-Resident Rajasthanis return to their motherland and contribute to the state’s development. The Rajasthan Foundation is playing the role of a strong bridge in connecting Non-Resident Rajasthanis with social activities and investment opportunities.

Rajasthan Foundation Now Has 51 Chapters

As part of the expansion of the Rajasthan Foundation, the Chief Minister announced the launch of 11 new chapters. These include 6 domestic chapters in Raipur, Lucknow, Patna, Siliguri, Panaji, and Visakhapatnam, and 4 international chapters in San Francisco (USA), Zurich (Switzerland), Milan (Italy), and Dublin (Ireland). Additionally, a Nordic chapter will be established in Stockholm, covering Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland. With this expansion, the total number of operational chapters of the Rajasthan Foundation in India and abroad will increase from 40 to 51—25 operating within India and 26 abroad.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is continuously encouraging their investments, social contributions, and cultural connection by making Non-Resident Rajasthanis key participants in the state's development journey. In line with this vision, the Department of Domestic and Overseas Rajasthan Affairs has been constituted, the Rajasthan Development Support Portal has been launched, and the NRR Policy-2025 has been released. Furthermore, a District Non-Resident Cell has been constituted in every district, where a Non-Resident Rajasthani Dialogue Programme will be organized at least once a year.

From Water and Electricity Availability to Infrastructure Connectivity

He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, there is an unprecedented expansion of infrastructure in Rajasthan. To increase water availability in the state, major inter-state water agreements—the Ram Jalsetu Link Project, Yamuna Water Agreement, Narmada Agreement, and Kishau Multipurpose Projects—are being executed on the ground. Moving beyond self-reliance in power, Rajasthan has now become a power-exporting state. Meanwhile, to make travel smoother, 9 Greenfield Expressways and the expansion of air connectivity are currently underway.

Business Being Eased Through Policy and Intent

The Chief Minister stated that to enhance ease of doing business, the time limit for Consent-to-Operate in the MSME sector has been reduced from 120 days to 30 days, while for large industries, it has been set to 60 days. Additionally, the list of White Category industries has been expanded from 104 to 877. Similarly, around 190 services across 18 departments are being made available on the RAJNIVESH Portal. Industries and investors are being encouraged through the Rajasthan Industries Park Promotion Policy-2026, Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme, Rajasthan MSME Policy, and the One District-One Product Policy.

Immense Potential for Investment in Rajasthan

He noted immense possibilities for investment in mineral wealth, agricultural products, spices, handicrafts, and tourism. The Greenfield Refinery and Petrochemical project being developed in the state at a cost of about ₹80,000 crore will serve as a new growth engine for Rajasthan's economy. Based on the various products emerging from the refinery, vast opportunities exist for small and large industries alike. He added that 472 industrial areas have been established in the state, with approximately 46,000 industrial units currently operational. The Chief Minister appealed to Non-Resident Rajasthanis to invest in their motherland and become active partners in driving industrial growth.

Shekhawati Heritage Meet on December 8

The Chief Minister emphasized that the government is driving development while preserving heritage. In this direction, a Heritage Tourism Circuit is being developed in Sikar, Jhunjhunu, and Churu, and 662 historical havelis have been identified for cultural conservation in the Shekhawati region. To promote this unique architectural heritage, the Shekhawati Heritage Meet will be organized on December 8.

The Chief Minister also invited Non-Resident Rajasthanis to attend the Non-Resident Rajasthani Conference scheduled for December 10. He acknowledged the valuable contributions of NRRs to water conservation through the "Karmabhumi se Matribhumi" campaign, under which approximately 62,000 groundwater recharge and water conservation structures have been constructed to date.

During the Programme, the Chief Minister interacted with presidents and representatives from various Rajasthan Foundation chapters. Amararam Jangid (Dubai), Ravi Sharma (Melbourne), Sonveer Singh (Nairobi), Ratan Sharma (Guwahati), Ganpat Kothari (Mumbai), Shyam Rathi (Surat), and Ajay Agarwal (Bhubaneswar) shared their views virtually, while Kanishk Yadav (Delhi), Kailash Jhalani (New York), and Jatanlal (Kolkata) participated in person.

On this occasion, the coffee table book ‘Vikas ke Sahabhagi’ was officially released. Deputy Chief Ministers Diya Kumari and Dr. Premchand Bairwa, Jaipur Mayor Sunil Kothari, and a large gathering of Non-Resident Rajasthanis attended the event physically and virtually from across India and around the globe.
