Jaipur, September 26. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Saturday inaugurated 423 development works worth ₹256 crore and laid the foundation stones for 1,029 works worth ₹668 crore in the Udaipur division.
Addressing the inauguration and foundation stone-laying ceremony for various development projects of the Udaipur division in Pratapgarh on Saturday, he said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Central Government and Rajasthan’s Double- Engine Government have undertaken unprecedented development works in the tribal areas of the state.
He stated that these areas, which had been waiting for development for several decades since Independence, have witnessed significant transformation through successful initiatives such as PM-JANMAN and the Dharti Aaba scheme. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma noted that tribal art and rich cultural traditions are the unique identity and key strength of the state. The State Government is continuously working to preserve this tribal heritage while promoting local products. In this direction, through Rajassangh and CONFED, tribal brothers and sisters will get fair prices for their products, better market access, and new livelihood opportunities.
Referring to the Gram Vikas Chaupal in Bambori, he said it gave him an opportunity to interact with villagers regarding local culture, traditions, and their day-to-day needs. He emphasized that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is working toward providing adequate opportunities for employment and livelihood, along with basic necessities like water, electricity, roads, education, and healthcare in rural areas.
He stated that the double-engine government has dedicated 423 projects worth over ₹256 crore related to public utility services to the people in tribal areas. These include:
14 projects worth ₹87 crore for power supply
15 projects worth over ₹75 crore for drinking water and irrigation
7 projects worth ₹22 crore for roads
19 projects worth over ₹9 crore for schools
Inaugurations were also carried out for various other initiatives spanning health, skill development, naturopathy, environmental protection, infrastructure expansion, hostels, tribal development, and school construction.
The Chief Minister further mentioned that foundation stones were laid for 1,029 development works worth over ₹668 crore. Key initiatives launched include:
299 projects worth ₹429 crore for smooth road connectivity
562 projects worth ₹73 crore for rural development
6 major health infrastructure projects worth ₹71 crore
He added that under the Prime Minister's guidance, tribal welfare is being ensured across the country. The ₹24,000 crore PM-JANMAN scheme and the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan guarantee pucca houses, electricity, clean water, healthcare, and road connectivity in more than 60,000 tribal villages. Additionally, hundreds of Eklavya Model Residential Schools and free hostel facilities are being established nationwide for tribal children.
The Chief Minister highlighted that several steps have been taken in Rajasthan for the development of tribal areas, inspired by the Prime Minister:
Honorarium increases for Shikshakarmis, Mahila Sahayoginis, sanitation workers, and health workers at Maa-Badi centers
Establishment of 530 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras across 8 districts
Construction of a state-of-the-art skill development center in Udaipur
Monthly mess allowance for students increased to ₹3,250
Orders issued to open 250 new Maa-Badi centers
Inauguration of 5,947 Centers under the Aadi Karmayogi Abhiyan
Furthermore, 236,000 minikits were distributed to tribal farmers, and loans worth ₹925 crore were disbursed under the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Rajasthan Dalit, Adivasi Udyam Protsahan Yojana. To document tribal art, the Sondh Mati Aadi Dharohar documentation scheme was introduced. The first event for the Aadi Gaurav Samman took place at Mangarh Dham, and the Navadi Yugdhara Praneeta Samagam was held in Banswara to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda.
The Chief Minister stated that during its tenure of over two and a half years, the State Government has provided appointments to 190,000 posts, while recruitment for 122,000 posts is currently underway. A recruitment calendar for 125,000 posts has also been released for the year 2026. At the panchayat level in rural areas, youth are being provided key facilities like e-libraries and e-Mitra through Atal Gyan Kendras.
To ensure water availability, major agreements have been signed for the Ramjal Setu Link Project, Yamuna Water Agreement, and the Narmada and Kishau projects. Work is also underway to ensure daytime electricity supply to farmers across all districts of the state by 2027.
Chief Minister Presents Development Projects
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma laid the foundation stone and inaugurated 1,452 development works worth over ₹924 crore across 7 districts of the Udaipur division. This includes the foundation-laying of 1,029 works worth ₹668 crore and the inauguration of 423 works worth ₹256 crore.
District-Wise Breakdown:
Udaipur: 526 works worth ₹166.80 crore
Dungarpur: 105 works worth ₹189.85 crore
Chittorgarh: 88 works worth ₹164.57 crore
Banswara: 77 works worth ₹89.68 crore
Pratapgarh: 436 works worth ₹109.77 crore
Rajsamand: 130 works worth ₹108.50 crore
Salumbar: 90 works worth ₹95.05 crore
Marketing Push for Forest Produce
During the event, the Chief Minister launched ‘Aadiparag’, the first honey product under the brand ‘Vangiri’, an initiative by the Rajasthan Tribal Area Development Cooperative Federation Limited (Rajassangh) to promote the collection, value addition, and marketing of minor forest produce.
An MoU was also exchanged between Rajassangh and CONFED to boost the marketing and sales of products crafted by Van Dhan Vikas Kendras across the state. This initiative follows the directives issued by the Chief Minister during the Rajasthan Scheduled Tribes Advisory Council meeting.
Revenue Minister Hemant Meena noted that under CM Bhajan Lal Sharma's leadership, Rajasthan is setting new benchmarks for development. Over the past two and a half years, the Chief Minister has delivered multiple developments to Pratapgarh in the drinking water, roads, health, education, and electricity sectors.
Earlier, the Chief Minister visited the Deepeshwar Mahadev Temple in Pratapgarh, performed Abhishekam with Panchamrit, and prayed for the peace, prosperity, and happiness of the state. Upon his arrival in Pratapgarh, he was warmly welcomed with a traditional Gair dance.
The event was attended by Tribal Area Development Minister Babulal Kharadi, Minister of State for Cooperation (Independent Charge) Gautam Kumar Dak, MLAs Srichand Kriplani and Arjun Jeengar, alongside other public representatives and a large gathering of citizens.
