Jaipur, September 22. Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the objective of the Viksit Bharat–Jan Seva Abhiyaan is to strengthen the spirit of public service, social commitment and good governance, disseminate information about public welfare activities among the people, and ensure the active participation of farmers, women and youth. He directed the departments to work in coordination to effectively carry forward the activities under the campaign and focus on connecting the maximum number of eligible beneficiaries with government schemes and services.

 

Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma chaired a high-level meeting on the Viksit Bharat–Jan Seva Abhiyaan on Tuesday. He directed officials to ensure that information about government schemes, public welfare programmes and citizen services reaches the last mile through the campaign and to further strengthen public participation.

 

The Chief Minister directed that the ‘Seva Setu Abhiyaan’ in rural and urban areas be extended by three days. He said that with the objective of making Central and State Government schemes and citizen services available to the people at the local level, the campaign will now continue across the State till September 28. At these camps, arrangements will be made for providing information about schemes, registration and distribution of benefits, delivery of citizen services, and disposal of pending cases and grievances.

 

Chief Minister Issues Strict Directions to Officials

 

In view of the upcoming festive season, the Chief Minister strictly directed officials to ensure that there is no negligence whatsoever in the provision of basic facilities such as roads, healthcare, electricity and drinking water. He directed officials of the Medical and Health Department to make necessary preparations for effective prevention and treatment of seasonal diseases and ensure adequate availability of medicines and other resources. He said that strict action must be taken against the medical officers concerned and personnel if any negligence is found at any level in the provision of healthcare services.

 

Rajasthan Ranks First in the Country in Online Pledge Forms under the Campaign

 

The meeting was informed that 383 blood donation camps have been organised across the State under the Viksit Bharat–Jan Seva Abhiyaan, resulting in the collection of more than 15,000 units of blood. More than 37,000 online pledge forms have also been filled in the State, the highest number in the country.

 

Under the campaign, 30 lakh families participated in the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ programme by lighting lamps. Under the ‘Mere Sapno Ka Bharat–Chitraseva’ programme, 17,730 programmes have been organised, with the participation of more than 13.40 lakh students and participants.

 

Under the Seva Setu Abhiyaan, more than 2.25 lakh people have participated in 660 camps, while more than 18.55 lakh participants have taken part in 20,406 programmes organised so far under the ‘Namo Seva–Ankahi Kahaniyan’ programme.

 

It is noteworthy that 12 major programmes and activities are being organised across the State under the Viksit Bharat–Jan Seva Abhiyaan. These include ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’, blood donation camps, ‘Mere Sapno Ka Bharat–Chitraseva’, ‘Namo Seva–Ankahi Kahaniyan’, ‘Aangan Milan Seva’, ‘Seva Ki Kahani’, ‘Seva Jyoti Kalash Yatra’, ‘Seva Mera Yogdan’, ‘Seva Setu Abhiyaan’, ‘Seva Ke Rang–Rashtra Ke Sang’, ‘Seva First Innovation Challenge’ and ‘Sushasan Seva Samvad’.

 

Repair Roads, Ensure Cleanliness and Uninterrupted Power Supply Before Diwali

 

During the meeting, the Chief Minister directed officials of the Public Works Department to undertake quality repairs of roads before Diwali. He also directed the Local Self Government Department to improve cleanliness in cities and other essential arrangements concerning the general public. He further directed officials of the Energy Department to ensure an uninterrupted and smooth power supply across the State.

 

Chief Secretary Shri V. Srinivas, along with Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and Secretaries of the concerned departments and other senior officers, was present at the meeting.
